Ziad Nakad presented his Autumn/Winter 2019/20 Couture Collection during Paris Fashion Week.
This season, his inspiration derived from the ancient mosaics dating back to the 3rd millennium BC from the Mesopotamians. Mosaics were made up of ivory seashells, and stones in order to make a decorative abstract design.
For thousands of years this mesmerizing technique has left many fascinated by the vivid colors and peculiar aesthetic. Looks carried what resembles tesseras; the assemblages that compose mosaics made of stone and other naturally based materials.
Ziad Nakad managed to remain true to the value of excellent quality while delivering us a beautiful artistic approach to his creations.
Gowns in beautiful silver, dazzling blue, beige, deep scarlet, and gold all shimmering against the light of the runway. The structuring of some attire was cut-out to look geometric and very architecural. Sleeves were as long as capes and some were attached starting from the lower shoulders voluminous in silk taffetas.
Exquisite precise details over long blazers held by belts on the upper-waist in velvet black and gold, sheer fabric allowing the glitter in gold-silver to stand out, magnificent long sleeved dresses allowing for skin to be exposed elegantly.
Renowned designer Ziad Nakad allowed for the encounter of architecture, geometry, art and fashion in order to develop a stunning collection.
