Tony Ward presented his prestigious couture collection in the heart of Paris on January 20th during Fashion Week. The show took place at the Palais de la découverte so beautiful it looked like a fairytale.
Designer Ward proved to show more than meets the eye by referencing to his mother country, Lebanon. In an interview he mentions « Lately the whole world is subject to great upheavals. I found inner peace by creating and advancing in spite of everything. »
The audience was left in are by the intricate designs resembling mesmerizing mandalas. The rich color palette included tones ranging from azure, shimmering silver, brilliant yellow and vivid mauve.
Dresses varies in lengths from Princess inspired ball gowns to mid-length and even festive skirts nodding to the roaring 20’s. Details were carefully well thought out with beaming sequins, beads and lace embroidered by hand.
Long capes flowing beautifully with every step under the palace’s dome, long sleeve garments, oversized collars. The spectators saw it all. Finally, talented designer ended the show with a modern twist to the traditional wedding dress. A never-before-seen original cut-out attire hinting to mandalas and origami.
