From Ghana to Global: Scent of Africa’s Fik and Gleti Unveil a New Era in Fragrance

Unveiling a new fragrance is always a moment. When it comes with a heritage story and a celebration of craftsmanship, it transcends the ordinary. Enter Scent of Africa, the Ghanaian fragrance house. Making waves with its latest additions to the Eternal Legends Collection – Fik and Gleti.  For the grand unveiling in Accra, IRK Magazine contributor Debonair Afrik Prive brought the event to life. Giving us a captivating first look at these exciting new scents..

Inspired by African mythology. Fik and Gleti pay homage to the Efik people of Nigeria and the Fon people of the Dahomey kingdom. But this isn’t just about history lessons – it’s about translating cultural identity into captivating olfactory experiences. Fik, for him, is a charismatic blend of Tunisian freshness and Nigerian spice. A “magnetic woody fragrance” that embodies elegance and power. Gleti, for her, is a radiant and luminous scent – an “olfactory jewel”. Described as a “ballet of femininity” thanks to its blend of florals and musks.

Scent of Africa’s founder, Tanal Ghandour, is clear about the brand’s mission. “We celebrate our growth with the launch of Fik and Gleti… As we continue this journey, our vision is to showcase African artistry to the world with each step.” This commitment to showcasing African heritage through fragrance is what sets Scent of Africa apart.

And it’s not just the story behind the scents that’s captivating. The perfumers, Nelly Hachem-Ruiz and Julien Rasquinet, have crafted truly unique olfactory experiences. Fik’s “vibrant and mysterious twilight” and Gleti’s “undisputed nocturnal elegance” transport the wearer to another world.

The packaging is equally impressive, with “extraordinary” and “award-winning” bottles that hint at the luxury within. Scent of Africa isn’t just creating fragrances, they’re creating conversation pieces.

Fik and Gleti are more than just fragrances; they’re a celebration of African heritage, artistry, and innovation. In a world of same-same scents, Scent of Africa is a breath of fresh air. We can’t wait to see what olfactory stories they tell next.
