In the midst of global turmoil, Arthur Yang's latest exhibition, "LA VILLE BLANCHE, Chaos et Sérénité", proudly presented by The ARPAC Foundation May 3rd to May 26th, 2024, emerges as a poignant testament to the power of art to provoke thought, inspire action, and offer solace amidst adversity. Situated at the intersection of creativity and compassion, Yang's journey from Armenia to Moscow has profoundly shaped his artistic perspective, imbuing his work with a sense of urgency and empathy that transcends mere aesthetics.

At the heart of Yang's exhibition lies his ongoing exploration of "The White City," a conceptual realm initially conceived as a sanctuary of happiness and tranquility. However, the stark realities of war and displacement have cast a shadow over this idyllic vision, prompting Yang to embark on a new series, aptly titled 'The White City 22.' Through a series of evocative paintings, Yang confronts the brutal truths of conflict, inviting viewers to contemplate the human cost of violence and displacement.

Reflecting on the genesis of his artistic odyssey, Yang muses, "There comes a moment when the artist must express the essence, what preoccupies him the most." For Yang, this moment arrived with the shattering upheavals that befell his native lands. The devastating crises in Ukraine and Karabakh, compelled him to redefine the purpose of his series "The White City". "I could no longer indulge in meditation through painting...while cities collapse and people die," he laments.

Yet, amidst the wreckage of war and displacement, Yang found himself drawn to the pursuit of happiness—a quest that transcends geographical boundaries and temporal constraints. In his exploration of "The White City," a metaphysical realm where harmony and beauty converge, Yang seeks to distill the elusive essence of joy from the cacophony of despair. Through his works, whether figurative or abstract, Yang invites viewers to embark on a journey of rediscovery—a journey fueled by light, color, and the relentless pursuit of serenity.

In a testament to the power of collective solidarity, Yang enlists the support of fellow artists from diverse backgrounds. Together, they lend their voices to his humanitarian initiative, offering their works for sale to support refugees from Ukraine and Karabakh. "An entire wall of the exhibition will be dedicated to them," Yang explains, "where works offered by different artists will be displayed and offered in exchange for a minimum donation."

Yet, beyond the realm of artistic expression lies a deeper purpose—an unwavering commitment to effecting tangible change. By donating a portion of the proceeds to charitable organizations supporting refugees, Yang ensures that his art transcends mere aesthetics, becoming a catalyst for humanitarian aid. "My approach to this exhibition is the least I can do to make my modest contribution to one of the greatest humanitarian catastrophes of our time," he affirms.

As "LA VILLE BLANCHE, Chaos et Sérénité" unfolds its narrative of resilience and hope, Yang invites viewers to confront the harsh realities of our world while embracing the transformative power of empathy and compassion. Whether experienced in person or virtually through www.arthuryang.com, this exhibition serves as a poignant reminder of our shared humanity—a call to action in the face of adversity. Through his art, Arthur Yang reminds us that even amidst chaos, serenity can be found, and through solidarity, hope can prevail.

Proceeds from the exhibition will be directed towards charitable foundations dedicated to aiding Ukrainian and Armenian refugees, providing essential support and assistance to those displaced by conflict. By purchasing artwork, patrons not only acquire a piece of beauty but also become active participants in the global effort to alleviate suffering and promote peace.

For those unable to attend the exhibition in person, virtual access offers an alternative means of engagement, allowing individuals from around the world to explore the artwork and make donations in support of humanitarian efforts. Through Yang's website, viewers can immerse themselves in the exhibition's themes and contribute to a cause greater than themselves.

In a world fraught with division and discord, Arthur Yang's exhibition serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us of the transformative power of art to unite, uplift, and inspire change. It is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and a call to action for all those who believe in the power of creativity to shape a better world.
